Burger of the Month Club – The Burger of the Month Club or BOTM club is made up of seven men who taste and rank the best burgers around a burgerrankings.com.
The Burger of the Month Club started in 2005 by Brett Weiss and Adam Beckerman of NY when they went out to try the ‘world’s biggest burger’ at Denny’s Beer Barrel Pub in Clearfield, Pa. which is a colossal 15 pound hamburger.
The Burger of the Month Club, also known as BOTM, ranks the qualities (and quantities) of the burgers and has come up with these top ten burgers of the month:

The BOTM club (pronounced ‘bottom’) members meet one Monday per month to sample a burger from area New York restaurants and rank them based of several criteria. If available, they order the bacon cheddar burger.

There was a time when BOTM existed only for its 7 members. In those days, the selection process was a yearly competition among the various members to find the best burgers. The first seven months of the year was sort of the “regular season” wherein each member was assigned a month to pick. The members that picked the top five burgers during the regular season moved on to the playoffs, earning themselves one more pick in one of the remaining five months of the year, after which an annual champion was crowned.
Now all has changed. BOTM no longer exists just for its 7 members, but instead we also exist for our dedicated followers. To that end, we have divided up the year, allowing visitors to the site to pick five of the burgers we will try this year. How does this work you ask? Click the tab at the top of the page which reads “Suggest a Burger”. Fill out and submit the form with you favorite burger. The most popular suggested burgers will appear on our homepage in a poll where registered users can vote on which burger BOTM should try next.
Every other month we will try the burger which receives the most votes. The other seven months of the year, we will make our own pick. So, the competition has grown. Will your suggested burgers beat ours? Welcome to the game…
“Certain people like a steak-type burger, certain people like something thinner,” Weiss stated. “Do you rank a burger based on, ‘My friend came in from out of town, where should I take him?’ Versus, ‘If I had all 45 burgers in front of me sitting on a table, which one would I eat?’ That’s the healthy debate.”
