Cameron Missouri – Cameron Missouri is now known for brain tumors instead of being ‘The Crossroads of the Nation.’

Cameron Missouri has had over a dozen cases of brain tumors diagnosed in the past seven months. In a town of 6,500 people, that number is staggering.

In Cameron MO, one of the first notice something was wrong was pharmacist Steve Erickson. Erickson said he knows most of the families in town and immediately realized something was very wrong.

About the Cameron Missouri brain tumor outbreak, Erickson applied midwest, old-fashioned horse sense. “If you have 12 broken legs on a one mile stretch, you might think there’s something wrong with the road on your one mile stretch,” Erickson said.
Doctors are only required to report cancerous brain tumors to the Health Department. Most of the tumors in Cameron Missouri are large, but benign. So there is no official agency collecting the data.
The main thing all victims have in common is the drinking water. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said it will look at any possible runoff near the reservoir and any possibility of contamination from a nearby hog farm.

Common symptoms were headaches, sinus problems, and hearing difficulty.
And that’s the very sad chatter about Cameron Missouri.

Carcinogenic chemicals from long forgotten dumps (landfills) may be the cause of cancers in Cameron. Golf courses and schools are often developed on top of closed dumps. Has there been an investigation of the previous land-use of the area encompassing Cameron Veterans Memorial Golf Club, Cameron Middle School/High School complex and Parkview Elementary School?
