Pier One Imports Closing – Pier One Imports is closing about 80 stores in 2009 after the retailer suffered painful losses in a shrinking economy.
Pier One Imports first announced closing up to 125 stores but was able to find some relief with landlords in some locations.
Overall sales and shrinking profit margins have caused Pier 1 Imports to scale back and cut costs.
Though the home decor retailer has not announced which locations will be closed, shoppers and employees are beginning to see the effects in some locations.
