Maurice Jarre Dies – French composer Maurice Jarre dies at the age of 84 in Los Angeles and is best known for the music composition of Doctor Zhivago and Lawrence of Arabia.
Maurice Jarre died with over 150 credits to his name including ‘A Passage to India’, ‘Ryans Daughter’, ‘The Tin Drum’, ‘The Year of Living Dangerously’, ‘Mad Max III’, ‘Fatal Attraction’, and ‘Witness’.
These musical scores, especially from Dr. Zhivago and Lawrence of Arabia, are as well known as the classic films themselves and should see gain in popularity now that Maurice Jarre died.
“Working with the world’s greatest filmmakers, he showed that music is as important as visual image in the success of a film,” French President Nicolas Sarkozy said.
