Bacon Explosion – It may be a heart attack roll, but this Bacon Explosion recipe will get the attention of pork lovers everywhere.

To make the Bacon Explosion you will need:
2 pounds thick cut bacon
2 pounds Italian sausage
1 jar of your favorite barbeque sauce
1 jar of your favorite barbeque rub

Start by making a 5X5 bacon weave like the picture shows and don’t leave any gaps. Then rub the weave down with your favorite barbeque rub.

Now take those two pounds of ground Italian sausage and press in evenly onto the bacon explosion weave.

Cook the remaining bacon the way you like it, crispy or soft or anywhere in between. Crumble cooked sausage and layer over the Italian sausage.

Drizzle the crumbled bacon with your favorite BBQ sauce then sprinkle another layer of BBQ rub on the whole stack.

Separate the sausage from the bacon weave at the edge so you can roll up everything except the weave. Roll as tightly as you can. Now roll the bacon explosion weave around the roll you already made.

Sprinkle again with BBQ rub then slather on the BBQ sauce as a glaze and voila, you have a Bacon Explosion as described by BBQ Addicts.

Cook for 225 degrees for one hour per inch of thickness in your smoker. Now call the paramedics and tell them to go ahead and bring over the defibrillator.

I havn’t even tried this yet, but I can’t wait. It looks so good, an the heck with the 5000 calories, I’ll distribute it out between as many happy souls as I can.
