Macy’s Store Closings – Macy’s has announced 11 store closings after suffering declining same store sales figures resulting in 960 employees without jobs as the country heads deeper into recession.
The Cincinatti based retailer Macy’s CEO, Terry Lundgren, stated, “In the store closing process, we are committed to treating affected associates with respect and openness.”

Nashville, Tenn.
After announcing the Macy’s store closings, the retailer will continue to operate 848 stores including 808 Macy’s stores and 40 Bloomingdale’s stores.
