Hamish the Obama Puppy – A little Shih Tzu named Hamish from Scotland may become the new Obama puppy in January when they move into the White House and here is why.

Hamish the Obama puppy is not yet official and won’t be until January, but President elect Barack Obama has been in contact with the 3 month old puppy’s owner, Bill Munnoch.

Mr. Munnoch contacted the Obama camp after seeing his promise of a puppy during his acceptance speech and offered little Hamish to the Obama family.
The Shih Tzu’s owner, Bill Munnoch, was recently diagnosed with bladder cancer for the third time and knows he will spend too much time with his medical treatments to care for the new puppy.
In an email to Obama, Bill Munnoch wrote about Hamish, “He is a bundle of joy, very obedient, and fully house trained. His innoculations are up to date, and he has a good wee pedigree. I do realise that you are an extremely busy man at this time, however if you wanted Hamish, I would bring him over to the US at my own expense as I just know your family would love him.”
So, if Hamish becomes the Obama puppy, he will be a rescued dog of sorts, just not from a shelter.
And that’s the latest chatter about Hamish the Obama Puppy.
