Maria Esther Castillo became unruly and the flight had to be diverted to Charlotte, NC so she could be arrested and removed from the plane.
When other methods of calming her down did not work, flight attendants had to use duct tape to restrain Maria Esther Castillo because she became phyically abusive to the flight staff and passengers.
One passenger reports seeing Castillo drinking at an airport bar prior to the flight, and she ordered one drink on the plane. Flight attendants ceased serving alcohol to her when she became uncontrollably disruptive.
Castillo, 45, reportedly became subdued when the pilot announced that the plane would land in Charlotte, NC to remove a disruptive passenger, but became unruly again when authorities boarded the plane to remove her.
United Airlines passenger, Maria Esther Castillo was arrested and is charged with resisting arrest and interfering with the operations of a flight crew.

How are you able to duct tape a disruptive woman down into her seat? They must have had to really get physical with her. I knew those ALWAYS smiling attendants were filled with rage. The incessant smiling is scary by itself. I’m sure they wish they could’ve called Criss Angel to make her magically disappear.
