Sock Obama – Is the Sock Obama a racist symbol or is it just an election year gizmo designed for a few laughs until whoever is elected starts acting like a hand puppet?

About the Sock Obama the Utah couple who make and sell the product said, “We at TheSockObama Co. are saddened that some individuals have chosen to misinterpret our plush toy. It is not, nor has it ever been, our objective to hurt, dismay or anger anyone. We guess there is an element of naiveté on our part, in that we don’t think in terms of myths, fables, fairy tales and folklore. In earnest folks, we’re so sorry we offended anybody.”
Now the Obama Sock Monkey would have been something entirely different had Hillary gotten the nomination. What do you think of this election year gizmo?
It’s a witches broom with a witch-like picture of Hillary Clinton on it and the Airforce One emblem. Now that’s funny, I don’t care who you are.
Back to the Sock Obama. Is it racist? Maybe, but do Obama supports not expect the conservatives to make an issue of his blackness? Wasn’t it just last week that news reports were saying some democrats didn’t think he was black enough?
The Sock Obama Monkey aside, can Obama use his blackness when it suits him for election purposes, but scream ‘racist’ when someone else calls attention to his race?
Either way, the the people who turned the Obama sock monkey into a big brouhaha are the very ones that made sure David and Elizabeth Lawson in Utah will make a fortune from it.
