When the racy photos from the Vanity fair photo shoot first appeared, young Miley Cyrus fans rushed to defend her while their own parents were questioning the wisdom of Miley’s parents even allowing the pictures to be taken in the first place.
Granted, Miley has been photographed at dozens of photo shoots and filmed by television and movie cameras on a regular basis, but she is a little young to be given that “just bedded” look of tousled hair and bright red lipstick while clutching a sheet to her chest.
It just smacks of blatantly oversexualizing the young Disney star who just turned 15 and is a role model to millions of young girls.
The Miley Cyrus photo shoot pictures set off a debate about how our society is oversexualizing young girls that are in the media spotlight, so Miley’s quote in the first picture is a bit ironic, “I know they have good hearts and they’re struggling,” she says of her friends Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan.
Coincidentally, both those troubled celebrities started out as Disney stars who were pushed into overtly sexual roles while still in their mid-teens.

“I think it’s really artsy. It wasn’t in a skanky way. Annie took, like, a beautiful shot, and I thought that was really cool. That’s what she wanted me to do, and you can’t say no to Annie.”

I think the photos with her dad are beautiful. shame they used red lipstick she is so much prettier with none. shes a kid give her a break. They are pictures after all, Britney’s sister Jamie is knocked up and no one seems that upset about that. Rather some annie l. pics than having sex and bringing another child into the world without the support of two parents. Be at peace Miley thanks for only doing a few pictures and not the crap the rest of the young stars are doing.

i think Miley looks gorgeous on her Vanity Fair pictures!!
Do you people rather look at our young artists’ pictures who are pregnant like Jamie Spears or Anorexic like the Olsens….or maybe a junkie like Lindsay?!?!?
What’s wrong with you people..these are pretty descent photos compare to the pictures taken by teens i’ve mentioned above!!

well i understand she had a blanket on but i still don’t thnk it was a suitable picture. wat if all the small children age like 8 who like her, decide to stip down, grab a blanket and take pics?? wouldn’t tht make them grow up fast? i thnk it’s an ok pic for her age but she has too many young fans tht look up to her. tht is my opinion. =]

i think her photos are beautiful ,and there is not much to make a big deal about. at least this lets us know shes not insecure like lindsay and britney (which brough on alot of their problems).

Yes, we all agree that she has little kids as fans that will look up to her, and it will have a bad effect on them. but a picture like this cannot make them grow up n think of things-of-not-their-age types, because you would rarely see an 8 year old skimming through latest issue of Vanity fair.
Yes the case would have been different if it was featured on her show!! but since its not reaching the kids why should it be bad for her image???
Plus the bigeest fact is the vanity fair photos are not even completely topless. keep it cool those who are getting offended. coz she isn’t asking you guys to do the same. if you don’t like the pics just avoid this topic!!

I watched the video and i thought it was very disterbing, just the way she was looking at her dad. I meen i would never do a cover shoot like that with my dad. I meen thats just weird their hased to be somthing wrong with her and her dad.

I think that these pics are pretty okay, I don’t think bad of Miley because of them. True, it’s not exactly a good thing if a young child sees them, but an 8 year old kid ain’t gonna pick up a copy of Vanity Fair, are they? And the fact that she’s being photographed more sexually in order to get publicity and further her career, well, I think she’ll be able deal with it better than others have. Just give her a break, alright? It’s not all bright lights, big cities and movie scenes you know.

i think these pictures are just a little to revealing for her. i know it doesn’t really “show anything” but still, i don’t think some one that’s fifteen should be taking pictures like these. it’s one thing if you’re a legal adult, but she’s still a child. and if i had children, i wouldn’t want them to look up to somebody that’s already pole dancing and taking risque pictures. im just saying
